ANNUAL RACE MEETING PROGRAMME FOR AUGUST 23 The annual race meeting of the Pakuranga Hunt Club is to be held at Ellerslie on Saturday, August 23, and will be the first fixture of the new season in this province. The committee of the Pakuranga Hunt Club met today and decided to stage the same programme as was offered last year, the sum in stakes distributed being £2,400. The programme last year was as follows: Greenmount Hunters* Steeplechase Handicap, of £2OO (winner to receive £140), about 2& miles. For qualified hunters, non-winners at time of starting (point-to-point races excepted). Harris Memorial Hunters’ Hurdles Handicap, of £2OO (winner £140), 1£ miles. For horses that have not won at time of starting any race valued at over £IOO (hunters' races excepted). Sylvia Park Handicap, of £2OO (winner £140), seven furlongs. Hack conditions. Jellicoe Handicap, of £450 (winner £3OO, second £IOO, third £SO), 14 miles. Pakuranga Hunt Cup, of £6OO (winner £4OO and £SO cup, second £IOO, third £SO), about three miles. For qualified hunters that have not won any race of over £IOO at time of starting. Auckland Handicap, of £2OO (winner £140), one mile. For horses that have not Avon, at time of nomination, a flat race of value of £l5O or flat races to collective value of £4OO. Ladies’ Bracelet Handicap, of £2OO (winner £140), 14 miles. For qualified hunters. No horse eligible which has won any race of value of over £IOO at time of starting (hunters’ races excepted). Dunedin Handicap, of £350 (winner £250, second £7O, third £30); six furlongs.
