PROPELLER BLADE LOST

CAMBRIDGE SLIGHTLY DELAYED A lost propeller-blade caused less , than two day’s lost time in the voyage of the Federal Line steamer Cambridge, ■ which arrived here yesterday afternoon from Liverpool. The mishap occurred on April 26, when the vessel was a week out from Panama. There was a moderate sea running at the time. To prevent vibration the vessel’s speed was reduced from her usual 13 knots. An engineer was along the propeller shaft tunnel at about 4 o’clock in the morning when the vibration indicated that something was wrong. As the Cambridge has twinscrews, the accident had no serious results. When the ship has completed the discharge at Port Chalmers of her general cargo from west coast ports of Great Britain, she will dock for repairs at the Southern port.
