“THE LIKES OF HER”

HUSBAND’S COMMENT "You are liable to get three months for this offence,” Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M.. informed a man who appeared in tlio Police Court this morning for trespassing on his wife’s property. "I wouldn’t like to do three months for the likes of her,” declared the husband definitely. "Nor would I.” remarked Mr. Hunt, dryly. The man said that he had been successful, only after hard endeavour, in persuading a son to return home, and the youth had been ordered away. The defendant was not sentenced to three months’ imprisonment—he was convicted- and discharged.
