YOUTH’S SUDDEN DEATH
INQUEST OPENED An inquest concerning the death of Lewis Bernard Tester, who died suddenly on Sunday at his home, 54 Curran Street, Herne Bay, was opened by the coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., yesterday. The mother, Harriet B. Tester, said her son, who was 18 years of age, was employed in the Koeford Pickle factory at Newmarket. On Tuesday or Wednesday last he came home and stated he had fallen about 10 feet down the lift well at the factory. He went to work as usual, until Friday night, when he complained of a severe headache. Vinegar-soaked cloths did not abate the pain and Br. Pettit was called in. She remained up all Saturday night and at 4 a.m. on Sunday he was very restless. When she returned from ringing Br. Pettit her son was frothing at the mouth and died at 7.45 o’clock. The boy had complained of his back since the accident. . The hearing svas adjourned.
