A flight of 555 miles in four hours 55 minutes actual flying time was completed by Captain Buckley, when he arrived from Auckland today in a Fairey 111. F monoplane. A stop was made at Blenheim, where Captain Buckley landed to inspect the auxiliary petrol tanks, which he suspected were not functioning properly. He found little amiss and resumed his flight, arriving at the Wigram airdrome at 4.35 p.m. When the weather clears Captain Buckley will leave for the Maniototo Plains, Central Otago, to make an aerial photographic survey. Ho will make his base at Ranfurly and spend four days on the work. Special' accommodation has been made in the airplane for a photographer and his apparatus, and the wide flying range of the machine will facilitate the survey over an extensive area.
