EIGHTY AVERAGE 62(iNS From Our Own Correspondent HAMILTON. Tuesday. The annual sale of Alfalfa pedigree Jersey cattle was held at Mr. F. J. Saxby’s farm, Ohaupo Road, today. The offering of 72 coming two-year-old heifers and 43 bulls was brought forward in splendid condition. Bidding opened briskly. There was a large attendance of buyers, many coming from Southland and Hawke’s Bay. The 80 head sold realised over £5.000. an average of about 62 guineas. Fifty-seven in-calf heifers were bought for 63 guineas a head; nine late-served heifers for 28 guineas a head; and 23 bulls for 52J guineas a head The top price realised was ISo guineas, paid by C. A. Baker, of Taranaki. for a daughter of Waipiko Masterpiece. Seven head realised over three-figure prices. The highest sellins stock were the progeny of Waipiko Masterpiece, the herd sire at Alfalfa.
