HEAVY LIST FOR SUPREME COURT 85 DIVORCE PETITIONS The Supreme Court sessions open in Auckland on Tuesday with a heavy list of cases awaiting decision. Fixtures will be made on Friday and Mr. Justice Herdman and Mr. Justice Smith are to preside at the sessions. Eleven criminal cases are listed and there are 85 petitions for divorce so far. Of the 69 civil cases, 14 will be heard before jury and 55 before judge alone. Ten of the eleven criminal charges were announced from the Supreme Court office this morning. They are: Arthur Thomas Munn, murder; Harold John Windsor, breaking and entering at night with intent to commit a crime and with attempting: to break and enter; Albert Bache, indecent assault on a female child; J. Sullivan, breaking, entering and theft by night: Richard S. Sinclaire, indecent assault on a male; George Allen, negligent driving, causing bodily harm; Robert Morton and James Daley, robbery with violence; Herbert Morris, attempted rape; Clarence William Bruce, failing to keep proper books within three years prior to bankruptcy; and Trevor Norman Foote, carnal knowledge.
