KIRK-WINDEYER GOLF
NEW METHOD OF CONTROL From Our Resident Reporter WELLINGTON, Today. Conferences between the visiting Australian golfers and representatives of the New Zealand Golf Council on the question of future rules of the Kirk-Windeyer Cup competition have now been concluded, and the results will be placed before the Australian Golf U nion. As far as New Zealand’s position is concerned, finality will be reached nt the next meeting of the council, when the conditions of future contests will be defined. No finality is expected with Australia for some time, however, as any decision of the States will have to be sent on to the Commonwealth Golf Union. Air. G. O. Sutton, secretary of the New Zealand Golf Council, stated today that the Australian Golf Union was now willing to control matches for the Kirk-Windeyer Cup in Australia. This is regarded as a very satisfactory development, as previously the union was not anxious to control cup matches.
