MUSEUM ELECTION

THREE MEMBERS CHOSEN Three representatives of local bodies on the council of the Auckland Institute and Museum were elected today from the 12 candidates nominated. The new members of the council are: Mr. E. M. Waters, of the Manukau County Council; Mr. R. T. Michaels, Newmarket Borough Council; and Mr. .W. PI. Potter, Waitemata County Cotfncil. The vote was conducted by post, and the selections were sent to Mr. Gilbert Archey, director of the War Memorial Museum. Keen interest was shown in the election, and the voting was extremely close. Mr. Waters received 47 supporters, Mr. Michaels 38, and Mr. Potter 35. There were seven candidates who received more than 30 votes each. The Auckland City Council will have the May of, Mr. G. Baildon, and three councillors, as its representatives on the Museum Council.
