GOLF AT HUNTLY
OPENING OF SEASON CLUB’S INCREASED MEMBERSHIP From Our Own Correspondent HUNTLY, Sunday. The official opening of the Huntly Golf Club took place yesterday under brilliant weather conditions, when the president, Dr. Duncan Macdiarmid, assisted by Mrs. Macdiarmid, officially opened the 1930 season. Increased membership, coupled with an extra tinge of enthusiasm, lent added interest to the opening, the guests being enthusiastic about the hospitality extended to them. , The order of the day was mixed foursomes over a nine-hole course, Mr. Armer and Miss Burgess returning a score card of 49, and leading the others, while a net score by Mr. and Mrs. McDowell of 29 was easily the best in the handicap. Individual scores were as follow: Waring and Mrs. Simcock. 47; Tapper and Mrs. Waring, 46; McDowell and Mrs. McDowell, 29; Smith and Mrs. Partis, 43; Dr. and Mrs. Macdiarmid, 44; Daldy and Mrs. Daldy, 34; Townsend and Miss Barclay, 30; Armer and Miss Burgess, 39; McDonald and Mrs. Chapman, 35; Littleproud and Mrs. LittleproUd, 33; Chapman and Miss Burden, 45; Hart and Mrs. Dodds, 43; Henderson and Miss Littleproud, 37; Cavanagh and Miss Simcock, 45.
