The Parks Committee bad recom. mended that both the Shelly Beach and the Parnell Baths be closed from Mav 1 to September 30 as was done Last year. It proposed, however, to reply to the New Zealanders' Association that if some reasonable guarantee Is given lor the use of the Shelly Beach Baths Baths during the winter the position will be again considered. Cr. M. J. Bennett asked that the question of opening the Shelly Beach Baths in winter be referred back to the Parks Committee. The recommendation was adopted. Howefer, it was pointed out that the petition on the subject of closing Shelly Beach Baths was in any ease going before the committee.
