PRETTY VICTORIAN FROCK OF GEORGETTE
LOWE—SHARPE On Wednesday evening at St. Mark’s Church the marriage was celebrated of Miss Betty Sharpe, eldest daughter of Mrs. J. Morgan, Amohia Street, Rotorua, to Mr. Albert George Lowe, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Lowe, of Armadale Road, Remuera. The ceremony was performed by the i Rev. R. C. Cruickshank, and Mr Alfred Pascoe, cousin of the bridegroom, presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by Mr. J. Morgan, wore a Victorian frock of ivory satin beaute, with a close-fit-ting bodice and a pointed yoke of ivory chiffon embroiderer in silver, The long full skirt, which was pouched over the hips, was finished with a deep uneven hem of chiffon appliqued with silver in a lloral design. The long train of ivory satin lined with shellpink georgette hung from the shoulders, while over it fell the veil of hand-embroidered brussels lace, which was caught to the head with a coronet of orange blossoms, while clusters of the same flowers caught the veil to the end of the train, which was folded over at the corners to reveal the pink georgette. Her shower bouquet was of white roses and pale pink cactus dahlias. In attendance as bridesmaids were the bride’s two sisters, Misses Ethel and Clare Sharpe, who wore powderblue and cameo-pink respectively. The bodices, which had a double cape effect at the back, were of embossed silver i lame, and the bouffant skirts, which fell in an uneven hemline, were finished at each point with narrow georgette frills. Their juliette caps were of tulle embroidered with silver, and they carried bouquets of pink and blue fiowers. Little Bebe Xiven was trainbearer and wore a frock of pale green georgette, with a full ankle-length frilled skirt embroidered with pink rosebuds. She wore a tulle cap finished with latticed ribbons and rosebuds, and she carried a gold basket of flowers. Mr. J. Hammond was best man and Mr. A. Jackson was groomsman. Mr. Ecklow, Mr. L. Beatty, Air. P. Lowe and Mr. Brian Sharpe acted as ushers. A reception was held later. Mrs. Morgan received her guests wearing a frock of rich brown chenille georgette embossed in autumn shades, and a brown felt hat trimmed with flat vel- j vet flowers.
