MR. A. W. COOK j The death has' occurred in Clirisfc- ! church, of Mr. Arthur Wellesley Cook, j aged 4G. He was well known as an auctioneer and was a prominent : sportsman.—l'.A. MR. C. J. BELCHER The sudden death occurred today while holidaymaking at his son’s residence, Egmont \ r illage, of Air. Charles James Belcher, of Rawhitiroa, E’ltham, aged 74. He was an old identity of Die district, and took a pi*>minent part in public affairs. He was a member or the county council for 22 years and chairman for 13 years, as well as being a director of the dairy company, a member of the Taranaki Power Board and ;other bodies. He retired last July, when his services were recognised at a public gathering. He leaves \ widow and a grown-up family of five | sons and three daughters.—P.A.
