IMPROVEMENTS WANTED
BLOCKHOUSE BAY PETITION At a representative meeting of ratepayers and residents of*Avondale South last evening, it was unanimously decided to send a petition to the City Council urging the needs of the Blockhouse Bay foreshore and reserves, and asking that a sum be placed on the coming estimates sufficient to provide against encroachment by the sea, and .to make the reserves accessible. The meeting was convened by Mr. P. Turner, who emphasised the neces'sity of improvements. A committee to be known* as the Blockhouse Bay Improvement Association was appointed, Mr. Pendleburv being elected chairman, Mr. P. Turner treasurer, and Mr. C. TV. Gooderham secretary. The committee guaranteed to supply the council with not less than £IOO toward the cost of improvements, £73 of the sum being promised at the meeting.
