AUSTRALIA MAY HAVE CHIEF JUSTICE SIR ISAAC ISAACS Reed. 10.5 a.m. MELBOURNE, Today.
It is learned authoritatively that the Chief Justice of the High Court, Sir Isaac Isaacs, has been offered the position of Gov-ernor-General of Australia in succession to Lord Stonehaven. All previous Governors - General have been appointed from tne united Kingdom, but the Labour Party in Australia has for some -time been pressing for the aupointment of an Australian to the position.
