STRIKERS NOW 13,000
TOKYO TAXIS RUNNING OMNIBUS ROUTES MORE MEN WALK OUT Reed. 10.10 a.m. TOKYO, Tuesday. The strike is spreading and now includes the power station operators and linesmen, bringing the total in Tokyo to over 13,000. Agitators are canvassing the electric railway operators and urging their sympathy with the strike. Meanwhile there is an emergency service augmented by 1,000 taxi-cabs, which are operating the bus routes. At Kobe 90 per cent, of the streetcar operators walked out today. A message from Yokohama says the Osaka and Nagoya unions presented unreasonable demands to which it was impossible to accede, and are threatening to strike.
