GANDHI A SHAM

CAMPAIGN AGAINST PEACE OF INDIA APPEAL TO MOSLEMS DELHI, Tuesday. Mohammed Yakub, deputy-presi-dent of the Assembly, speaking at an AU-India Moslem Conference at Bombay, described Gandhi’s campaign as lawless. He declared that Moslems would never countenance it. The movement was a sham, fraught with grave consequences and was bound to retard the peaceful progress of the country. The speaker praised the Viceroy, Lord Irwin, for his liberality, sympathy and sincerity. Finally he appealed to Moslems to organise and present a united front.
