HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY’S ANNUAL SHOW
DISPLAY AT NEWMARKET Three hundred-odd blooms were exhibited at the Auckland Horticultural Society’s annual chrysanthemum show, held in the Municipal Hall, Newmarket, this afternoon. It was the finest display of chrysanthemums ever seen in Auckland, perhaps in the Dominion. Recent light rains had brought the flowers on well, and the committee, under the leadership of Mr. F. Walker, had the blooms perfectly arranged. The judging took place from noon to 2 p.m., and at halfpast two, .Sir Edwin Mitchelson opened tho show, which will extend over today' and tomorrow.
