TRAIL OF SILVER FLOWERS ADORNS IVORY SATIN GOWN
MILLS—BASS LIT On Thursday evening, at St. James’s Church. Wellington Street, the marriage took place of Veronica Maud, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A 1 fred Basset. and Albert Edward, youngest son of Mr. Samuel Mills. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. E. R. Harries and Mr. Braclcering presided at the organ. Given away by her father, the bride wore a pretty frock of ivory crepe satin, with a deep flared skirt and a silver trail of flowers rell from the shoulder of the hem. Her beautiful hand-embroidered veil, which was caught at the head with clusters of orange blossom. fell to form a long train, and she carried a bouquet of pale pink and white flowers. Miss Huia Bassett. sister of the bride, and Miss Dulcie Mills, sister of the bridegroom, were maids, and wore pink and lilac taffeta frocks respectively, made with deep skirts finished at the waist with a large bow end an appliquecl design. They wore mile head-dress to tone with their nocks and carried pink and white bouquets. I-ittle Nancy Bassett, cousin of the bride, anci Valma Mills, niece of the bridegroom, who were flower girls, wore frocks of powder blue satin with tittle dutch caps of tulle, and they each carried a Victorian posy. The bridegroom was attended bv Mr W. Mills as best man. and Mr. George Mills as groomsman. The reception was held in the Grey Lynn bowling pavilion, where Mrs. Bassett received the guests wearing black crepe de chine relieved with fawn. She wore a black hat and carried a bouquet in autumn -shades. Mrs. George Mills was in a fawn rep iVoek with a hat to tone. She carried a bouquet of bronze flowers. For her travelling frock the bride 'chosen a cream three-piece suit and a white hat.
