APPRENTICE’S SURPRISE WIN.— R. Mcßae (lower), an apprentice jockey who substituted N. H. Wiggins at Ellerslie yesterday and steered Nassock to victory in the Autumn Handicap. This is Mcßae’s first win. Since Mr. J. P. Stanaway (top) bought the horse for £ls in January, he has earned £1,135 in stake-money.
