A SPECIALIST

Miss Lucy Barling (in private life the wife of Dr. A. Murray, until recently on the medical staif of the Melbourne Hospital) has been appointed chief assistant to Professor Berry, director of the Stoke Park Colony for Mental Defectives at Bristol, England. She commenced her career in the Victorian Education Department, but soon began a study of mental deficiency under the direction of Professor Berry, who was then at Melbourne University. On the appointment of Professor Berry to Stoke Park Colony, where there are over 2,000 patients, he immediately selected Miss Barling as his chief assistant. With her husband she has now left for England.
