GRAND THEATRE
In “Innocents of Paris,” which is now at the Grand Theatre, Maurice Chevalier is supported by a strong cast, which includes Sylvia Beecher, George Fawcett. John Miljan, Margaret Livingstone and Jack Luden. Chevalier has been suitably cast as. Maurice Marny, a second-hand dealer, who is walking through the streets when he hears cries coming from the river. He finds a woman and her child in the Seine, and succeeds in rescuing the boy, whom he takes home to the house of Laval, father of the drowned woman. His reception is not favourable, but he is greatly attracted by Louise, the daughter of Laval. Marny takes Louise to a cafe, where he sings, and he attracts the attention of a theatrical manager, and his party. He is offered a position at a famous theatre, but his success separates him from Louise. There is also a complete supporting programme.
