PIGEON-FLYING
The Waitemata Pigeon Flying Club contested a race from Ohakune, an air-line distance of 186 miles, in fine weather. The birds were liberated by the stationmaster at 7 a.m. and were registered at North Shore at 12 noon. Mr. R. Olliver again supplied the winner. Results: —Mr. R. Olliver’s r c c Some Boy, I,oßoyds, 1; Mr. E. Andrew’s b p h Shoal Bay, 1,076yd5, 2; Mr. H. E. Crowhurst’s blk h Bobtail, 1,075yd5, 3. Six lofts competed. The club contest, the young bird championship from Palmerston North, 260 miles, for the Waitemata Silver Challenge Cup, will be held next week. PONSONBY CLUB The Ponsonby Pigeon Fljung Club flew races from Hunterville and Manunui, Mr. C. Litherland being successful in both races. He won the former, the young bird Derby, with his b c p c Nelson Derby, and the latter with Wild Cloud. Results;—Hunterville race: Mr. C. Litherland’s b c p c Nelson Derby, I,lsoyds, 1; Mr. A.
