MORRINSVILLE NOTES
The proposed alteration of the school holidays from Christmas-time to February was not viewed favourably by the majority of those who attended tho annual meeting of the householders in Morrinsville, and a motion opposing such a change was carried after an amendment to defer the question for a year had been defeated. * * * There was a large and representative attendance at the annual meeting of the Morrinsville branch of the Farmers’ Union on Thursday evening. Mr. G. H. Pirrit presided. The balance sheet showed a credit balance of £ls 4s lOd on the year’s working, and the assets of the branch were estimated at £sl 7s. Officers for the year were elected as follow: President. Mr. G. H. Pirrit: vice-presidents, Messrs. G. Howie and J. B. Thomas; committee, Messrs. P. S. Philpott. B. J. Pirrit, F. AA’. Seifert M. E. Barrowclough, E. Hutchings, AAA Darrall, P. Rushton, S. Ferguson, J. Thompson, B. Harnett. A. Topham. and J. M. Allen; auditor, Mr. J. E. Leeson; secretary, Mr. J. L. Faulkner assistant secretary, Mr. P. S. Philpott.
