RUGBY LEAGUE AFFAIRS
OPENING DAY’S DRAW The newly-elected Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby Football Beague held its first meeting of the season last evening when the draw for the opening matches was made as follows:—Senior A grade: Ellerslie a*. City, Ponsonby v. Richmond, Marist v. Kingsland, Devonport v. Newton. Senior Grade B: Richmond v. Northcote, Mangere v. Otahuhu, Parnell v. Point Chevalier, Mount Albert a bye. Tho following committees were elected for the ensuing season: Finance, Messrs. W. Mincham, T. Gregory, T. E. Henry: grounds, W. Min:ham, W. J. Davidson, R. Short; insurance, E. Redwood. C. Adamson, R. Doble; advertising, R. Shepherd, SHuxford, W. J. Davidson. The secretary of the City Club forwarded an application for the reinstatement of Ben Davidson. The City delegate said Mr. Davidson did not intend making application himself, as his previous request to be allowed to play in England had been refused by the New' Zealand Council, and thus he was still a member of the code in New Zealand. Tho Management Committee decided to forward the application to the New Zealand Council and instructed its delegates to support it.
