TRANSPORT SERVICES ALTERED MANY SPORTS EVENTS Easter descends on the community this evening with the observance of lato night. The Auckland Transport Board will run its services this evening according to the Friday evening time-tables. Tomorrow, Good Friday, Sunday services will be recognised, with the last cars leaving the city at 10.30 p.m. On Easter Saturday and Easter Monday, while the first cars leave as usual, special services will be operated on all routes. Retailers will close until Tuesday morning, but butchers and bakers will open their shops during Saturday morning. The sporting attractions are the Auckland Racing Club’s autumn carnival at Kllei'slie on Saturday and Monday, the provincial golf championship at Hamilton on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday, the Maungakiekie Golf Club’s open amateur tournament at Titirangi on the same days, the annual Easter tournament for bowlers, beginning tomorrow, and the inter-univer-sity contests, to be attended by 150 students from Southern universities, which begin on Saturday morning and end on Tuesday. Banks will be closed tomorrow, Saturday and Monday, on the Wednesday, St. George’s Day, and on Friday next week, Anzac Day. Legal office's close this evening until April 28 and the Supreme Court and its office observe the holiday from this afternoon. Primary schools and land agency offices will be closed until next Wednesday morning. Accountants’ . offices reopen on Tuesday, but the Stock Exchange and architects’ offices will be closed until April 28. The office of the Auckland Provincial Patriotic and War Relief Association reopens on April 26. Many country athletic meetings are to be held during Easter Saturday and Easter Monday.
