FINAL BROADSIDES

MEETING ON WEDNESDAY i WELLINGTON TEAM TO RACE 1 1 The first interprovincial match series staged in New Zealand has been arranged for the final meeting of the season at Western Springs Stadium, which will be run off tomorrow evening. Pour Wellington riders will appear on t the cinders. They will be Wally I KLilmister, who impressed Aucklanders ! so greatly with his riding here early j in the season, IST ay lor, another speed- L ster, who has ridden well in mother centres, Harvey and Tonks. Auckland’s team has not yet been selected finally, but will probably be Alf Mattson, the Dominion champion. Ben Bray, Jack Garmson and Bert Coyle. All four have done excellently on the cinders here and should make the series against the visitors very interesting indeed. Covle was the outstanding figure at Saturday’s meeting, carrying off the finals of both the Norton Cup round and the Farewell Handicap. He is aB j grade rider. Butler was not up to his form of a week earlier, and, although he carried off the Norton Cup by virtue of the big lead he had gained previously, he did not pass the semi-finals. He is still leading for the Hud sonEssex Cup for B graders, the final round of which as to be run tomorrow •night. The points are now as follow:—Butler, 8 points: Jack Joi'don 7* Jack Good, 5; Percy Fletcher, 4; Jack McDonald, 3; Alf Way, 2; Cairns, Coppins and Cormack. 1 point each. This leaves the decision between the four leading competitors. „.^*] ere will be no Australians at Western Springs tomorrow night, but the Wellington quartet will compete ir all events. The match events will be Kilm is ter v. Mattson; Harvey v. Naylor v. Garmson; and Tonks “v Coyle.
