SOUTHERNERS ARRIVE FIVE UNDER J. H. JEFFERD The ITawke’s Bay. trainer, J. H. Jo Ilford, made an appearance at Ellerslie yesterday with five horses, viz., Star Stranger, Hunting Day, Cylinder, Don Quixote and Love Song. The quintet all claim engagements at the comingmeeting of the Auckland Racing Club, and with exception they should all race prominently. It is a powerful team, in fact it is hard to suggest a trainer who will have better representation. W. D. Moroney, who had Vertigern and Count Palatine racing at Te Rapa yesterday, will arrive at headquarters tomorrow, an addition to the string being the two-year-old Appledore. W. Mobberley has made the following accommodation for horses due for the Easter meeting:—J. Fryer (four horses), G. A. Reid (two), A. Cox (one), and T. Daly (one).
