MR. NASH GIVES EVIDENCE WORKERS’ COMPENSATION Press Association WELLINGTON, Friday. Notwithstanding the “black” edict ol the Alliance of Labour, evidence was given today by a representative of official Labour before the committee* which is investigating the Workers’ Compensation Act. The witness was the national secretary of the New Zealand Labour Party, Mr. W. Nash, M.P., who gavs evidence on behalf of the Labour Legislation Committee. The appearance of Air. Nash before the committee was in line with the attitude of tho political section of the Labour movement, as outlined in the policy statement on the subject issued last week After hearing other evidence, including that from the New Zealand Employers’ Federation, the New Zealand Sliee planners’ Federation and the insurance companies, the committee adjourned until May 8. The chairman, Mr. S. G. Smith, M.P., said that the reason for the adjournment was the approach of the Easter holidays and the Parnell byelection. So far the committee had had a busy time of it, and a considerable volume of valuable evidence had been given by all sections of the community.
