“DYNAMITE” COMING
CECIL B. DE MILLE’S NEW TALKIE The most novel marriage of picture history is credited to Cecil B. De Mille’s first Metro-Goldwyu-Mayer production, “Dynamite,” which is coming to the Regent Theatre shortly. In this Jeanie Ma.cPherson story. Charles Bickford and Kay Johnson are married in Bickford’s death cell, seven hours before he is to be hanged for murder. De Mille based bis new story on this central incident, suggested to him by the actual marriage of Mr. and Mrs Salvatore Merra in the New Jersey State Prison two years ago. The pair were married two hours before Merra’s execution, in order to legitimise their cli i Id. The drama of “Dynamite,” revolves around what happens when Bickford is released at the last minute—and comes back. “Dynamite” is Cecil B. De Mille’s first talking film. The principals of the production are Conrad Nagel, Kay Johnson, Charles Bickford and Julia Faye.
