SYSTEM OF COMMISSION ON FINES MOTOR UNION’S PROTEST Press Association WELLINGTON. Friday. There was a good attendance of delegates at the half-yearly meeting of the Xorth Island Motor Union today. Mr. W. O’Callaghan (South Taranaki) presided. • The principle is a very wrong one," said Mr. H. W. Shortt in submitting the following remit: ‘That the Xorth Island (X.Z.i Motor Union protest to the Minister of Transport against local bodies remunerating traffic inspectors employed by them on a commission basis from lines secured by such traffic inspectors from motorists for offences under the motor regulations of local by-laws." The remit was carried. A remit. “That a recommendation bo made to the proper authorities that it be made compulsory for local authorities to put down white lines indicating where cars can be parked parallel or otherwise to the footpath,” was carried. It was resolved that all speed limits be abolished and that “driving to the common danger” be submitted. ______________________
