QUIET EVENING WEDDING CELEBRATED AT REMUERA

TILY—PALMER St. Luke’s Church, Remuera, was chosen by Aliss Dorothy Alabel Palmer, younger daughter of the late Air. and Airs. J. S. Palmer, of Dilworth Avenue, Remuera, for her wedding last evening to Air. Walter James Tily, of Auckland, youngest son of the late Mr* and Airs. T. Tily. of Dunedin. The Rev. J. A. Thompson performed the ceremony, and the bride was given away by Air. L. J. Stevens. Her frock was of honey-beige crepe de chine, a chic touch being introduced bv cherry collar, cuffs u|.d tie. She wore a small cherry felt hat and carried a bouquet of red flowers. Air. John Nasev attended the bridegroom as best man. After the wedding a reception was held at the home <>f the bride in Dilwortli Avenue, Airs. W. Berry, of Waiuku, acting as hostess. Airs. Berry's gown was of deep peach coloured georgette, with small bankok hat. TE AWAMUTU BRIDE WEARS MOIRE FROCK MAID IN PASTEL PINK FOWLER—WATSON On Wednesday afternoon the wedding took place of Aliss Ruby Lavinia Watson, daughter of Mrs. George Jeffs, of Te Awamutu. to Air. Reginald Fowler, son of Air. and Airs. Murray Fowler, also of Te Awamutu, at St, Patrick’s Church. The Rev. Father O’Flynn performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her step-father, Air. G. Jeffs, looked charming in a pretty gown of ivory moire with liglit-fitting bodice and long skirt, with uneven hemline reaching to the ankles. Her veil of Brussels net fell in graceful folds, caught at either side with orange blossom, and she carried a bouquet of pale pink and white flowers. Her bridesmaid w*as Aliss Reta Page, attired in pale pink figured georgette, with long panels, and a blue felt hat to match. Her bouquet was of blue and fawn flowers. In attendance as best man was Air. Frank Woods. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Central Tea Rooms, the bride’s mother receiving her guests in a frock of biscuit lace and georgette, with black bankok hat. The bridegroom’s mother wore black charmelaine, with touches of white, and a shaded felt hat. Later in the afternoon Mr. and Airs. R. Fowler left bymotor for Frankton, on route to Auckland. They sail today for Sydney, where they will take up residence. The bride’s going-away costume was a pale green suit with white felt hat and shoes to tone. EVENING WEDDING

BERRY—PYLE The marriage of Annie . Hazel, youngest daughter of Airs. A. Pyle, of Ponsonby, to Henry Benjamin, eldest s<*n of Airs. H. Berry, of Sussex Street, Grey Lynn, was celebrated at St. Alatthew’s Church, on Alonday evening. Canon Grant-Cowen officiated. The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr. Fraser, wore a sleeveless gown of ivory crepe de chine, caught at the waist, with a white and silver spray and orange blossoms. The embroidered *tull© veil was arranged as a cap and was hqld in place with orange blossom buds. She carried a shower bouquet of white asters and dahlias, with satin streamers. Aliss Alona Pen, cousin of the bride, who attended as bridesmaid, wore lemon georgette and hat to tone and carried a bouquet of lemon asters and dahlias with streamers of lemon satin. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Air. Floyd Berry, as best man. After the ceremony the guests were received by the bride’s mother, who wore a frock of sequined net and flame satin, with hat to tone. Airs. Berry wore beige crepe satin and hat to match. ENGAGEMENTS The engagement is announced of Atadeline Graham, eldest daughter of Airs. Trower, of Kohimarama, and the late Air. Arthur F. Trower, to Frederick Winston, son of Airs. E. M. Craddock, of Auckland. The engagement is announced of Aliss Hazel Johnson, eldest daughter of ATr. and Mrs. T. G. Johnson, of Opotiki, to Air. Victor Allen, of Whakatane. eldest son of Air. and Airs. R. Allen, of Opotiki.
