MUSEUM COUNCIL

NOMINATIONS NOW CLOSED LOCAL BODY MEMBERS For the three seats on the Museum Council allotted to local body representatives, 1- nominations have been received by Mr. Gilbert Arcliey director of the War Memorial Museum. Nominations closed yesterday. Those nominated are:—Mr. B. Brigham (Mount Albert Borough Council), Mr. H. T. Clements (Otahuhu Borough Council), Mr. W. C. Ellis (Xortlicote Borough Council), Mr. I. J. Goldstine (One Tree Hill Road Board), Mr. John Hislop (Devonport Borough Council), Mr. W. R. T. Leighton (Henderson Town Board), Mr. J. M. Melville (Mount Eden Borough Council), Mr. R. T. Michaels (Newmarket Borough Council), Mr. F. W. Mountjoy (Onehunga Borough Council), Mr. W. H. Potter (Waitemata County Council), Mr. T. R. Smytheman (Papatoetoe Town Board), and Mr. F. M. Waters (Manukau County Council). The election will be held on April 28 and every member of local bodies contributing to the upkeep of the museum will have a vote. In addition to the three local bodies' representatives the City Council will be represented by the Mayor and three other members.

The remaining 11 members of the Museum Council will be elected at the annual meeting, which will take place next month.
