CONCERT AT HOSPITAL

A successful concert, conducted by Mr. N. Carisen, was held at the Public Hospital last evening befov-e an audience of more than 100 patients. Mr. W. Wallace, chairman of the board, expressed appreciation at the work done by Mr. Carl sen, who had given concerts for the hospital patients for the last two years, and had done much to assist the nurses and the doctors in their work and cheer the inmates. Mr. Wallace made special reference to the fine record of Mr. J. Smithson, who had been connected with entertainment work in the hospital for 20 years.

Mr. Carlsen said he was greatly indebted to many gramophone firms, who had assisted the concerts by lending records. The members of the party were:—Miss Eileen Brennan, pianist; Miss Eileen Smithson, Messrs. G. Carlsen, N. Carlsen and J. Smithson.
