AUCKLAND BRANCH’S WORK The Auckland branch of the N *. Zealand Educational Institute held general meeting in the rooms, Well ley Street, last evening, when the p sident, Mr. E. Varley Hudson, ported on the work done by the mM agement committee since the last g« eral meeting. Twenty-one meetings had been h and urgent topics, including une ployment among teachers, proficier regulations, training college entrance examinations, and the new regulations for they inspection and organisation of schools had received the committee’s attention. Several cases where teachers had been helped by the institute were mentioned by the president, who also referred to the work done by the secretary, Mr. J. Armstrong. The proficiency regulations and remits to the annual conference to be held in Wellington in May were discussed. The next general meeting will be held on June 20.
