THREAT OF STRIKES
NATION-WIDE LABOUR TROUBLE IN JAPAN SPINNING WAGES DROP By Radio—Press Association. Reed. 9.45 a.m. TOKYO, Wed. A proposed 30 per cent, wages reduction by the Kanegafuchi, the leading wealthy spinning company, because of business depression, is threatening to crehte labour troubles throughout the nation. Other companies will inevitably follow its example. In the event of a strike the workmen will forfeit their claims to participation in the retirement pension funds. The latest developments are causing the Government the utmost misgivings. Rioting is reported in the Kanegafuchi’s Osaka mill and similar outbreaks are reported from other mills.
