SLUMP AT CASINO
AUSTRALIANS HAVE NO LUCK AT MONTE CARLO LONDON, April 1. Monte Carlo, according to Mr. J. B. Thecmin, of Melbourne, who Has just spent the winter on the Riviera, is not the terrible gambling place it is supposed by some people to be. Monte Carlo, was undergoing a severe slump. Even Americans had no money to waste now. “I saw very few Australians, but the place was full of Germans, who apparently are the most prosperous, he said. They did not wager heavily. Australians who play there never have much luck anyway. ‘There is no reason why Australia should not institute a casino along Monte Carlo lines, except for the lack of a ceaseless stream of foreigners silly enough to lose their mone/.”
