REMITS FOR CONFERENCE From Our Otcn Correspondent OPOTIKI, Today. The monthly meeting of the Opotiki branch /of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union was held yesterday. Remits to the Auckland provincial conference were approved, as follow: “That the Town Planning Act be amended to delete the clause giving boroughs the right to take lands in rural districts for the purpose of scenic reserves and playgrounds.” “That the tariff be taken off all imported timber.” “That all roads be nationalised.” “That precautions taken by the Government for keeping foot and mouth disease out of the Dominion be still retained, with closer supervision.”
