EACH GUEST BRINGS GIFT OF CUP AND SAUCER Aliss Alarjorie Fraser was the guest ! honour at a bridge afternoon given j by Aliss Doris Marmont at her home j in Duke Street, Alount Roskill, on Satj urday afternoon last. | It was in the form of a cup and I saucer gift afternoon, and each guest j presented Aliss Fraser with a cup and : saucer. The prizes for bridge were won by Airs. Dave Bruce and . Aliss K. Marmont. Aliss Alarmont received the guests wearing a smart ensemble of floral black and fawn crepe de chine, while the guest of honour chose a gown carried out in burgundy red satin beaute, with black felt hat, and shoes and bag to match. j The guests were:—Mrs. J. Aliss Harper, of Wellington, has been on a short visit to Alorrinsville I friends. * I CROQUET AFTERNOON An enjoyable time was spent on the j Alorrinsville Croquet Club’s green on I Saturday afternoon, when the honor- : ary members were entertained. Competitions were held, the winners being: Target croquet, Airs. Aitken and Airs. D. Coghill; clock golf, Airs. Osborne and Airs. C. F. Hart; progressive croquet, Airs. Crowe; diabolo, Airs. J. L. Faulkner; cake, Mrs. F. Hawkins. A stall in the grounds where cake could be bought, proved most successful. Afternoon tea was served by members. GIFT EVENING On Saturday Mrs. N. Hastings gave a most enjoyable evening and dance at her home, “Hangawera,” in honour of Miss Ena Bodmin, who is to be married shortly. The room was prettily decorated with gailv-coloured zinnia blooms. Alusic, competitions, cards and dancing on the lawn passed the time pleasantly. Numbers of useful and pretty gifts were received. Airs. Hastings received her guests wearing a frock of beige crepe de chine and lace. Aliss Bodmin wore scarlet chenille embossed velvet. Among those present were:—Alesdames W. C. Bodmin, J.
