OTOROHANGA CLUB
From Our Own Correspondent OTOROHANGA, Today. The president, Mr. S. J. Fortescue, welcomed the visitors and club members to the official opening for the season of the Otorohanga Golf Club’s links last Saturday. Representatives of the Te Awamutu, Te Kuiti, Maihiihi and Burnside Golf Clubs were among the guests. As patron, Mr. J. C. Rolleston, of Te Kuiti, congratulated the club on its membership and its links. Believing, as he did, in the motto, “Deeds, not words,” he would ask Mrs. Rolleston, his wife, to open the links by driving off the first ball, but he would be on hand to supply the words if the deed failed and Mrs. Rolleston missed the ball. However, Mrs. Rolleston drove off a long and straight ball as an appropriate prelude to a yery pleasant golfing afternoon.
