NORTHCOTE BOROUGH
MEETING OF COONCIL The meeting of the Xorthcote Borough Council was held last evening, the Mayor, Mr. A. E. Greenslade, presiding. The building inspector reported that seven building permits were issued last month, for. buildings valued at £970. For the 12 months ending March 31, 1930, 60 building permits were issued, of a, total value of £9,485, including eight new dwellings, as compared with 45 permits to the value of £8,566 4s, including nine new dwellings for the previous year. The Reserves Committee recommended that the municipal reserve be closed for cricket after next Saturday and opened for football on Saturday, April 19, and the League code be granted its use on the latter date. No Sunday play or practice is to be permitted on the reserve. The fire break on the Little Shoal Bay reserve has been completed. The council decided to nominate Cr. W. C. Elliss as one of the three representatives of the local contributing bodies on the Auckland War Memorial Museum Council. The sum of three guineas was donated to the obstetrical fund.
