WAITEMATA RACES FOR FEARON TROPHIES TEN CREWS ENTER YVaitemata Club Concluded its programme on Saturday, when pair oar trials were rowed for trophies donated by the Messrs. Fearon. Water conditions inside the Hobson Bay embankment were good, and much time was saved by racing both up and down the course. Eight crews entered, and Mr. L. Fearon, one of the donors of the trophies, was in attendance. First heat: W. Eaddy and G. Barker (scr) beat C. Fearon and E. Bishop (ss), by one length. Second heat: E.‘ Horning and R. Sherspn (Ss) beat R. Smith and D. Gladcing (7s) by two lengths. Third heat: C. Belton and C. Cairns (14s) beat O T. Allen and L. Hunter (38s) bj- two lengths. Fourth heat: N. Hunt and G. Howard (28s) beat J. H. Beesley and M. Pierce (2 Gs) by half a length. First semi-final: Eaddy and Barker beat Horning and Sherson by two lengths. Second semi-final: Hunt and Howard beat Belton and Cairns by a length. Final: Hunt and Howard beat Eaddy and Barker by several lengths.
