Cheery Night at Dixieland
MANY DANCERS ATTEND A very cheery atmosphere prevailed at Dixieland on Saturday evening when a particularly large number of dancers enjoyed, the eplendid dancte music dispensed by Mr. Haro* Neilson and the Dixieland dance band. Miss Mascotte Taylor, of the Ambassadors’, Sydney, gave an exhibition of the Break-away, which was greatly appreciated. AMONG THE DANCERS Mrs. Xevill Hill was wearing an ivory chiffon frock embroidered with gold beads. Airs. J. Kay had on a smart satin gown of deep burgundy red. Mrs. Mcßae wore maize-gold and brown , flowered chiffon. Mrs. Bernard Kissen chose a frock of : floral ninon of absinthe green tonings, touched with bxack. Mrs. Lynch, Havelock North, wore a gown of hollyhock i*nk taffeta with deei>* yoke of fine silver lace. Mrs. Rowlands had on a black crepe de soie frock beaded in jet. Ivory georgette embossed with silver motifs was worn by Mrs. Bradbury. Mrs. H. J. Smith, a Christchurch visitor, had on a frock of palest daffodil yellow georgette. Miss Beach Hardie-Neil was -wearing a ! gown of canton jade georgette. Miss Nell Batey’s frock was of vivid scarlet chiffon with touches of gold. A charming gown of peacock blue and green flowered ninon was worn by Miss Molly Mitchelson. Miss Joy AVllford’s frock of beige lace 1 was worn parchment tinted georgette. Touches of bright cherry red relieved Miss Honey O’Connor’s pretty frock of larkspur blue ring velvet and georgette. Miss Hildred Graliam wore a smart ivory frock with green beads and earrings. Miss Rita Henley wore a black georgette frock with shoulder-spray of roses. Miss Olga Read had on a gown of amethyst ring velvet. Miss Marjorie Webb chose cloth of gold and printemps green chiffon. A primrose-coloured frock combining lace and georgette was worn by Miss Ine Abdullah. Bouffant sprigged taffeta was chosen by Miss Pattie Brett. Miss Elma Knight-wore hydrangea blue frilled organdie, with relief of silver. Miss Olga JacksQn's gown was of deep gentian blue ninon. Miss Tinkerbell Jackson -wore ivory and
marigold flowered georgette, with distinctive cape collar. Miss Brickrnan, Wellington, had on a cameo pink lace frock. Miss Doreen Harrison wore beige lace over flame-coloured satin. Miss Jean Forde’s chiffon velvet gown was of deep pansy purple. Miss Joan Milliner had on a betty blue, frock with relief of rhinestones. Miss Shieff wore cloth of gold and ombre rose tulle. Miss Mona Craig’s frock, with pointed draperies, was of floral chiffon. Miss TT. Todd was wearing a gown of' pointsettia red georgette. Miss Betty Markman was in butter-cup yellow georgette with deep yoke of gold lace. Miss Dorrie Thomas had on an uneven length gown of black georgette. Miss Margaret Stevens chose flowered georgette i% shades of water green. Miss Pat Miller had on a gown of black and gold embossed georgette. Miss Monk wore a bouffant frock of gros grain taffeta in moonlight blue and silver shades. Miss Mary Thomas, Wanganui, wore a French organdie frock of leaf green, with narrow frills trimming the skirt. Miss Tweed had on a flounced frock of ivory taffeta. Miss Peggy Maben was wearing an uneven length frock of ivory chenille embossed georgette. i Miss M. Greer was in a smart gown of black and silver metal chiffon. Prettiest chartreuse green crepe faille was worn by Miss Barbara Long. Rose and gold shot taffeta fashioned Miss J. McKay’s bouffant frock. Miss Steahr chose cammellia pink georgette embroidered with crystal beads. Miss McArthur was in dawn pink chenille embossed georgette. Miss Williams wore georgette in a pretty shade of delphinium blue.
