DANCE PARTY TO CELEBRATE COMING-OF-AGE
GAY OTAHUHU FUNCTION MANY GUESTS ENTERTAINED The Holy Trinity Parish Hall. Otahuhu, was gaily decorated with festoons of streamers and balloons on Saturday evening, when Air. and Mrs. H. Handisides entertained a large circle of friends in honour of the eoming-of-age of their eldest son Claude. The evening was spent in dancing to the strains of the Click Clack International Orchestra. Between dances a number of amusing and interesting competitions and games were indulged | in. A sj>-*t jazz waltz was won by Miss Taylor and Air. Alarm. Two enjoyable vocal solos were contributed by Airs. Christini and Mr. E. Harvie. The toast of the guest of honour was I proposed by Air. Venables and the host j and hostess by Air. Dixon. I Airs. Handisides welcomed the guests I wearing a frock of paon blue pat- ; terned chiffon velvet, with trimmings ; of crepe de chine. Among those present were: Airs. Barnes, wearin'g a pretty frock of black crepe de chine; Airs. S. AI. Fox, who wore navy blue embossed velvet, with trimmings of lace; Airs. G. S. Johnson had on sunkist crepe satin; Airs. E Sampson was wearing red rose silk velour frock; Airs. G. Charleston, a pretty floral patterned ninon frock; Airs. Heath wore a frock of figured rayon; Mrs. H. Chris- ; tini was wearing pansy shaded crepe de | chine: Airs. Thrift, powder blue silk with j ecru trimming; Aliss G. Handisides wore I a pretty frock of powder blue lace, over | satin. Aliss Dorothy Thoms, in wallflower i crepe de chine, with trimmings of gold | tissue; Aliss Goodwin, a dainty frock of : guipure lace; Aliss A. Cross, moss rose j crepe de chine, with silver relief; Aliss j Audrey Ghezzi, frock of black satin car- ; reau; Aliss V. Brennan, crepe de chine j frock in shades of soft green; Miss R. | Aloore, china blue crepe de chine with ! drapingc of georgette; Aliss N. Thrift was i wearing peach blossom rayon, with floral i trimmings; AlisS L. Ellison, nile green j crepe satin finished with silver lace; Aliss j AI. Stuart, wearing shell pink ninon relieved with pale green; Aliss P. Wilson was frocked in sunset taffeta with floral trimming; Aliss U. Venables, a pretty frock of beige crepe satin with oriental reliefs; Aliss Alarie Pennycook, a dainty frock of blush rose georgette; Aliss AI. Venables*, shaded green georgette with touches of gold lace and black embroidered shawl; Aliss Doris Jackson, leaf green draped satin frock; Aliss Ngaire Dodge, lichen green crepe faille with apricot posy; Aliss AT. Purdy was frocked in navy silk, with trimmings of maroon; Aliss S. McKeown, frock of black taffeta; Aliss Doreen Wallace, cornflower blue taffeta, finished with a spray of rosebuds; Aliss AI.
