SATURDAY’S GOLF
AUCKLAND CLUB’S BOGEY HANDICAP Over 50 players took part in the bogey competition held by the Auckland Golf Club at Middlemore on Saturday. Owing to the dry spell the course was very tricky, many well-played shots going astray. R. G. Rainger won the A grade competition with a card all square, due mainly to a homeward half of 34. The B grade was won by W. Wilson, who finished one up. He will henceforth rank as a senior. The following were the best cards:— A tirade.—R. G. Rainger, a.H square; W. Pavitt, 1 down; Dr. F. Macky, Dr. Abbott and J. K. Lusk. 2 down. B Grade.—W. Wilson, 1 up; F. A. Abbot and W. Phillips, 3 down; A. M. Smith, 5 down. MAUNGAKIEKIE CLUB The first medal handicap of the season was played by members of the Maungakiekie Golf Club at the Titirangi links on Saturday. There was a large entry and excellent cards were returned. The winner was H. A. Broatfbent, whose card read 85, 13—72. Other good cards were as follow:—W. P. Baker, 89, 16—73; R. F.
