Obituary

. MR. THOMAS RITCHIE The death occurred in Dunedin on Saturday of Mr. Thomas Thompson Ritchie, a member of the firm of Waters. Ritchie and Company. Mr. Ritchie was well-known in business circles and also as an owner and breeder of trotting horses. He was in his 60th year.

MRS. F. J. JEFFERIES An early Feilding settler, Mrs. Clara Jefferies, died last week at the age of 87. Mrs Jefferies, with her husband, the late Mr Frederick John Jefferies, and their throe children, came to New Zealand in 1874 in the barque Woodlark after a long voyage, during which fever caused many deaths, including that of Mrs. Jefferies’s daughter. Mrs. Jefferies is survived by two sons and one daughter.
