WESTERN SPRINGS TONIGHT Three match races between Alf Mattson, Auckland’s champion broadsider, and. Bobbie Blake, the hard-riding speedster from the Wentworth Speedway, Sydney, will provide thrills in plenty at the Western Springs Stadium this evening, when another meeting of champions will be staged. Mattson has been brought bo.ck to the scratch mark, and will get away on even terms with the two Australians, Blake and Max Graham. He will need to make the most of his pace to get ahead of these men from across the Tasman. The Silver Sash, the laurels of the Auckland championship, will be contested for again tonight. Mattson is the present holder. Other race series will be for the Norton Cup and for the Essex-Hudson Cup, a trophy for B grade riders.
