The Hon. G. J. Smith, M.L.C., arrived by the Limited express today. Mr. Robert Semple, M.P., is visiting Auckland. Sub-Inspector T. M. Tuck. 8.A., B.Sc., a member of the teaching staff of the Hamilton Technical School, has been appointed principal of the Timaru Technical School. Mr. H. R. Jenkins, late member of Parliament for Parnell, is attending the Rotary Conterence at Chateau Tongariro. Mr. W. Nash, M.P., national secretary of the Labour Party, who has been in Auckland in connection with the Parnell by-election, left for Wellington last evening. Mr. S. S. M. Bish, Town Clerk at Greytown, has been appointed Town Clerk at Pukekohe out of 76 applicants. He will commence his duties on April 21. Lieutenant-Colonel Harding, manag-ing-director of Maconochie Brothers, Limited, England, who is visiting New Zealand, is at present in Auckland. He will leave Auckland by the Niagara on April 8. , Major H. Cayzer, a brother of Lady Jellicoe, arrived in Wellington from Sydney by the Ulimaroa. Accompanied by his wife and daughter, he will leave for Rotorua and Taupo, and will sail by the Niagara from Auck- * land. Mr. S. E. Wright, secretary of the Auckland Employers’ Association, is visiting Wellirgton.
