HEENEY PICKS THEM OFF
N.Z. Boxer Gets No Thrill From Hunting Lions —Would as Soon Shoot Tabby Cats Received 10.5 a.in. NEW YORK, Tuesday. THE NEW YORK WORLD,” in a leader entitled “Mister Ileenev and the Lions,” discusses Heeney’s assertion that all the modern lion-hunter needs to do is “Go out there and pick off the lions,” which “just stand there and wait for you to shoot them.” He added: “You might just as well shoot tabby-cats in the rear of the Schubert Theatre for all the kick I got out of it.” The leader continues: “We feel it our duty to point out that Mr. Heeney’s idea of excitement is a little different from that of the ordinary man. “Any man who had the courage to climb into the ring with Tunney ought not to mind a Hon very much. “If you are giving tis the choice of facing Tunney without a rifle or a lion with a rifle, you are going to see a dead cat every time.”
