HEAVY-WEIGHT TITLE
SHARKEY AND SCHMELING MEET IN JUNE WINNER TO BE CHAMPION Reed. 9.5 a.m. NEW YORK, Tuesday. The State Athletic Commission on Tuesday sanctioned a 15-round match between Sharkey and Sehmeling, at the Yankee Stadium on June 12, the winner to be recognised as the world’s heavy-weight champion in New York State. The fighters have agreed to split 50 per cent, of the gate receipts equally. Schmelling will arrive at the middle of the month.
